Introducing Shavonne Wood, RD
Shavonne is a Registered Dietitian offering in-clinic and virtual consultations to Millbrook, Peterborough and residents of Ontario.
Shavonne helps busy individuals achieve their nutrition and health goals without diets, food rules, or unnecessary restriction. As a registered dietitian and diabetes educator, she provides personalized, evidence-based nutrition support for improving your health through realistic diet and lifestyle changes (while still enjoying your favourite foods).
Whether your goals are managing blood sugar, supporting your healthiest weight without crash diets, improving gut health, or boosting energy, she'll help you cut through the confusion, create a plan that fits your life, and maintain your results long-term.
She also has extensive experience and training in certain specialized and complex conditions and populations including cancer care/oncology, tube feeding, autoimmune diseases, palliative care, disordered eating, and women’s heath.
If you’re ready to move beyond fad diets and find a sustainable, balanced approach to health, you’ve come to the right place.
Shavonne's Approach to Health
Weight Neutral
Shavonne uses a non-diet approach. This means if you don’t want to talk about your weight, no problem. And if you’re nervous to meet with a dietitian because you don’t want to be put on yet another restrictive diet- no worries, it won’t happen here.
Evidence-Based
As a registered dietitian, she practices evidenced-based nutrition. This means that when you're provided with recommendations they are backed by science to ensure you are being provided with both safe and effective guidance while working towards your health goals.
Whole Body Approach
Shavonne believes that healthcare needs a holistic approach. Although she specializes in nutrition, she's also trained to look at your health as a ‘whole picture’. This includes considering factors like sleep, stress, activity, emotional and mental health, and overall lifestyle.
